Wet and Showery

The next 10 Days sees a lot of showery weather for Ireland. There will however be some warm sunshine mixed in too and temperatures will regularly get over 20c in most parts of the country.

However there will also be wet days too like Wednesday, August 15th and perhaps Friday in the east and South of Ireland.

Looking beyond that to the following week High Pressure tries to reassert its influence over the country and this may bring a return to warmer conditions but this is far from certain and the showery conditions look just as likely to win out.

Winds will be from a Southerly or Easterly component for the most part so the North and West could fare pretty well.

Cooler and Showery

The weather for the next 10 days will see rain on almost all days in the North and West of Ireland and on all but 1 or 2 days in the East and South. Temperatures will only be 14 to 18c and winds will be from the Northwest a lot of the time.

Unsettled 10 Days

The weather for the next 10 days remains unsettled and cool for June but there are signs of a slight improvement after 5 or 6 days. Look out for this improved weather around June 18th but pressure does not seem that strong. This could result in just benign conditions with sunshine and cloud rather than any heatwave. After this there is a Low Pressure moving down from Iceland around June 21st or 22nd and this will bring us right back to square one again. The month will end on a cool note.

Heat on Way for Ireland

Fine Weather on the way to end May
The next few days will see a rise in temperatures of a degree or so each day for Ireland. This will result in temperatures of 23 or 24c by the end of the week in some parts of the West and North. Other areas too will see temperatures of 22c. Sun by day and mist by night in a light to moderate Southerly wind later backing Easterly. The end of the 10 day period into the start of June is less certain with some thundery rain possible.

Rain in the East

Clear in the Northwesr
Rain continues for the East for a time as we head into May with the West basking in some warm bright sunshine. Temperatures could reach 17 or 18c but in the East and Northeast it will only be 11 or 12c at best. The cool pattern spreads to all parts of Ireland later with some Wintry showers this time in the North. Temperatures at the end of the period will have dropped back considerably to values of around 8 or 9c. Snow is very possible on the hilltops but this is still one to keep an eye on.

Rain Coming for Munster, Leinster

Heavy Rain this Week
Flooding for the East and South in the coming days as the cool and unsettled weather continues to make it a rather unpleasant if somewhat sunny April in Ireland but you know what I mean.

Tuesday to Friday will see high rainfall of up to 50mm in the East and South. More showery in the West and North. Maybe 10 to 20mm here. So far in Sligo there has been 70mm of rain in April, slightly above normal for the time of year.

Further into the period it looks like showers will become more scattered for Ireland.

There might even be some dry weather as we head into the start of May but it will be cloudy.

Showery then Dry and Mild

The weather is going to be showery over the weekend but after that next week looks quite dry and mild. At the moment Venus is visible in the sky. I tried to video it with a webcam but with disasterous consequences. Look here and see you will have to wait 21seconds to see the white speck that is Venus over Sligo. Jupiter is underneath but too faded now I should have videod it earlier.

Dry at First, RIsk Rain

Ireland will have a lot of dry weather to begin with some warm sunshine as well. Most of the rain will be confined to Atlantic coastal areas and even here it will be sunny at times. Temperatures will be several degrees above norrmal. This will come as a welcome relief and continue the very mild year 2012 has been so far. more

Cold Weather

The next 10 Days will see a lot of unsettled and cold weather in Ireland with a risk of some sleet or snow at times especially in the East.

The temperature is going to be only 3 to 6c falling to minus 5c at night.

Later in the period it gets milder from the West once more and Atlantic fronts cross the country again.

These may start off as snow but will quickly turn to rain as the mild weather covers Ireland after February 6th 2012.
